CHILD WELFARE

Counseling

Individual and family counseling are our most common treatment approaches when working with children and adolescents in the child welfare system. Whether mental health or substance use issues, or both, our individualized treatment approach focuses on the complex and unique circumstances in the lives of these children. Family counseling is essential in many situations for the purpose of reunification, to prevent separation, and to strengthen parental, sibling, and/or alternative family arrangements. Our therapists are trained in trauma-informed treatment and use a strengths based approach in counseling these resilient children. Our approach is to develop meaningful and trusting relationships, encourage them, and help them identify and develop their strengths and capabilities. Creating hope and cultivating their successes are at the heart of our commitment towards their growth, development, and success.
